Web hosting platform

The aim of the PiCoLibre project is to develop a collaborative platform for developing software within an educational context. As a part of the PeCoVaLL project,. PiCoLibre implements the CoopX protocol, which allows it to interconnect with other software development platforms. A new faq module was released. Setup was improved by detecting passwords. A lot of bugs in the bug_report and Todo modules were fixed. The cvs_notify module was added.

The requirement for static CVS was removed. Code cleanup. Installs on the current stable phpGroupware version. Debian packages have been produced. Minor fixes and enhancements. The aim of the PicoForge project (previously known as PicoLibre) is to provide a set of high level libre software applications that are well integrated in order to provide a collaborative “forge”. It makes it easy to deploy a collaborative work platform for developing software or hosting other collaborative activities. Having started (as PicoLibre) in an educational context, PicoForge is now a quite generic platform, comparable (but sometimes less advanced) to other *-Forge software platforms.

It groups several high-level applications like phpGroupware, Sympa, TWiki, Subversion, and CVS. PicoLibre was renamed to PicoForge to reflect the “forge” nature of the platform. The installation now relies on Debian packages to ease system configuration. Many code cleanups were made along with a port to phpGroupWare’s stable release. Subversion is now available in addition to CVS. TWiki wikis were added for projects. Several bugs were fixed. This is the current stable version after major bugfixes.

A Web-based Free Software hosting system

Savane is a Web-based Free Software hosting system, originally based on SourceForge 2.0. It currently includes bug tracking, project and member management, mailing lists, and individual account maintenance. This release has trivial cosmetic changes, enhanced session verification, and a script to monitor the number of messages pending in the mailman queue. A bug in user management which caused user accounts to be deleted when they were no longer members of any group has been fixed.

German and French translations have been added/updated. A member’s shell is now completely configurable. This release fixes a significant security bug that could lead to remote code execution by the Web-server user. Apart from that, many minor bugfixes and cosmetic improvements have been made, including spelling issues, code cleanups, i18n updates, better msg-id management of sent mail, clearer dependency list rendering, RFC822 compliance, and quoting of real names in From: and To: mail headers whenever appropriate. Many bugfixes and minor improvements were done. Translations were added or updated.

Rackspace offers your choice of Microsoft or Linux managed servers and is perfect for businesses running medium to large web hosting environments that demand a Zero-Downtime Network and our unparalleled Fanatical Support.Project admins can now allow or disallow transitions from one field value (like status) to another on trackers. Transitions can have special effects like assigning the item to another project member. XHTML is now used instead of HTML. Reminders of open items can now be sent at the project admin’s or user’s choice. The status (closed/open) of items are now shown with distinct colors. Priority colors are also shown when listing item dependencies. Cosmetics changes have been done and many bugs have been fixed.

Some company’s offer so called “affordable” hosting by offering drastically reduced storage space and bandwidth, or by severely limiting what you can do with your site. This means the web host would end up on blocklists and then your emails would be blocked by most of the net. Free web hosting for scouts

Yes, you can get it with escouts, but I can personally reccomend cubscout. I did do a lot of looking around before chosing webhosting, and I have never had any problems with cubscout.ws, just great reliable service. Yes, with escouts you get more diskspace, but to be honest, 20MB is more than enogh for anyone, and you do get 5x more data transfer per month with cubscout which is useful if you want to get lots of visitors. oh yes, and most of the things that you listed that you get with escouts, are what come with cpanel, and you get cpanel with cubscout.ws. overall, they are very similar packages, but personally, I would recommend cubscout  to anyone.

Since escouts was first created a few years back it has gone uphill ever since. There have been a few problems but these all happen and we have learnt from these how to improve the service and that’s how it’s got to what it is. Looking from a user’s perspective the escouts hosting looks much reliable. A few years ago escouts was in the position cubscout.ws is in. One person was running it off a reseller account until it came to a stage where by the reseller account was getting bigger and bigger with more and more accounts. It got to a stage where a reseller account was not viable for one person to pay. Escouts now has it’s own dedicated server being run by seven dedicated scouters in the UK.

There are also 3 people responsible for the costs and this spreads the load to ensure the service remains as effective as it can be. How many people are going to run the support when cubscout.ws gets bigger? What are you going to do when the costs spiral as your users expect more and the reseller account/server gets filled up? Not being negative against cubscout.ws but from past knowledge I think you may have problems running it in the future.
